Indiana Hunting & Fishing Regulations

Indiana State Hunting and Fishing Regulations

Indiana offers hunters a wide variety of hunts and game species to choose between. From deer and turkey, to the many different species of furbearers including coyote, gray and red fox, opossum, raccoon, and striped skunk. For hunters seeking winged prey, migratory birds and waterfowl include coot, dove, ducks, geese, merganser, moorhen, rails, snipe, teal, and woodcock.

For fishermen, Indiana has year-round fishing options. Popular target fish include steelhead trout, northern pike, muskie, coho salmon, crappie, walleye, striper, and largemouth bass. In the winter months, fishermen can enjoy ice fishing on the many frozen lakes.
