New Hampshire Hunting & Fishing Regulations

NH State Hunting and Fishing Regulations

With rugged mountains, clear lakes, and beaches in the southeast, there is something for every outdoorsman in New Hampshire. Though a relatively small state, it offers nearly 750,000 acres of public land open to hunters. Within these lands, numerous species can be found such as white-tailed deer, black bear, turkey, grouse, woodcock, pheasant, waterfowl, as well as small game species. Though it is lesser-known, New Hampshire offers moose hunts to the fortunate few who are able to win permits via a lottery system.

With the option of freshwater or saltwater fishing, there is opportunity for almost any type of angler. For fishermen who prefer bass, New Hampshire offers some of the best bass fishing in the northeast. Other common catches in New Hampshire include American shad, bluefish, and brown trout.
