Missouri Hunting & Fishing Regulations

Missouri State Hunting and Fishing Regulations

Missouri offers hunters a unique experience from the dense forest of the Ozark mountains in the south, to the wide open Great Plains in the north. White-tailed deer and turkey are the primary species to hunt. However, there are numerous other bird and small game species such as snipe, dove, rail, woodcock, pheasant, quail, duck, geese, bobcat, coyote, and fox.

Missouri has numerous lakes and streams that can be accessed for all types of freshwater fishing. Perhaps the most iconic is the Missouri River, which stretches across the entire state. Common catches in Missouri include largemouth bass, blue catfish, black crappie, carp, rainbow trout, brown trout, walleye, and paddlefish.
