Texas Hunting & Fishing Regulations

TX State Hunting and Fishing Regulations

Texas offers some of the best and most diverse hunting opportunities in the United States. The Lone Star State has more turkey, wild hogs. and white-tailed deer than any other state. Popular hunts include mule deer and pronghorn, but Texas also has a number of unique species, including javelina, alligators, nilgai antelope, aoudad sheep, and axis deer.

Fishing is popular in Texas. From saltwater fishing in the Gulf of Mexico to freshwater angling throughout the state, there’s an abundance of opportunities for both beginner and pro fishers. The state’s top fishing includes catfish in Lake Conroe (outside of Houston) and the striped, white, and largemouth bass havens of Lake Fork, and Lake Buchanan, and O.H. Ivie Lake.
